Three months after the wettest February on record, we are now in one of the wettest Mays on record.  The River Chess is fed from the aquifer in the Chilterns, where the water-table is at its highest for some years.  Consequently, the picnic area on Chorleywood House Estate still has water flowing over it.

However, TRDC are about to install sandbags there to encourage the river to stay in its rightful place, in the hope that the picnic area will dry out.
