A number of residents have noticed that litter has been accumulating behind the wired fencing adjacent to the rail line leading along Station Road from the tunnel to the station itself. It is perceived this is largely due to individuals throwing litter over the fence, but also possibly the wind blowing in litter from other areas.
The littered site beyond the fencing is under Transport for London control who have been contacted by CRA and are expected to provide confirmation that a clean-up will be done in due course.
CRA have also contacted the Council to ask for new litter bins to be installed outside Chorleywood station, and to the existing lampposts along the Station Road footpath where there is room for smaller bins, without comprising the existing footpath space (particularly important during the busy morning and evening rush periods). Hopefully, this will encourage and enable the litterbugs to dispose of their rubbish in the correct manner!
