Last week, Three Rivers District Council decided that the final consultation on the new Local Plan, expected to be held in November, should be delayed due to concerns over the new Government’s proposed change to the National Planning Policy Framework and issues identified with some of the documents required for the consultation. Local Residents’ Associations argued that the consultation should be undertaken as scheduled and are disappointed by the delay, but understand the reasons behind it.

We will continue to work with the Council to ensure that residents’ voices are heard throughout the ongoing work and will persist in demanding that the Council adopts a Local Plan that protects the Green Belt and invaluable countryside of the district, whilst also delivering the homes needed for the local population. We believe that the number of homes dictated by the government in its proposed policy is far in excess of that required to meet all the needs of the local population.
