Huge congratulations to our fellow Committee member Vanessa Rousseau, who was awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM) in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list on 1st June. This national recognition is richly-deserved, for Vanessa’s inspired work setting up and running the Chorleywood Corona Support Group (CCSG) from March 2020 onwards. The CCSG provided wonderful support for vulnerable people and families throughout Chorleywood, right through the successive lockdowns in 2020 and 2021. Many of the CCSG volunteers have continued to support Chorleywood as Neighbourhood Watch.
CRA nominated Vanessa with wonderful supporting letters from all sections of Chorleywood, including her fellow volunteers, grateful residents, schools, church leaders, our local Councils and Councillors and our MP.
Vanessa was also named Chorleywood Parish Council’s Community Champion of the Year in 2021.
