FOCW are a local Chorleywood group whose membership continually needs renewing, so they are looking for local residents who might be willing and interested in joining.
Carpenters Wood, one of the few designated ancient woodlands in the UK, covers 56 acres, and is over 400 years old. The woodland is within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a wonderful example of a mature Beech wood.
At present the Friends Group meet twice a month (the first and third Thursday morning in the month) – a diary of volunteer sessions along with more information is available on the website www.carpenterswood.com.
Don’t worry if you are not super-fit! Volunteers come when they can and do only what they can manage. All tools are provided along with protective-wear. The volunteers are a friendly, lively group, always keen to welcome new volunteers, so if you are interested, contact Barbara on bgreenshirelane@yahoo.co.uk. |
