There is a new petition asking that the government amend the new home building targets by basing them on the latest population statistics and housing growth projections rather than the out of date 2014 data currently used. Using the latest growth projections would result in the target number of new houses to be built each year in Three Rivers reducing from around 650 a year to around 300 a year.

We ask that you support this petition. This would mean that significantly less Green Belt would have to be built over to meet the targets whilst delivering sufficient new housing for the true local need. And the government could still achieve its overall target of building 300,000 new homes in England each year.
