The Colne Valley Regional Park (CVRP) is nationally important for wildlife, covering 110 km2 of countryside south of Chorleywood. Recently the CVRP Trust made a breakthrough in parliament on their campaign to Protect the CVRP. The Minister for Planning stated: “Government recognises the vital role that the Colne Valley Regional Park plays in providing access to the countryside for people… its importance for biodiversity… I share the desire to ensure it is protected for current and future generations.”

CVRP will work with government to create and deliver ‘win wins’ for nature and growth. Protection and enhancement of the CVRP is apolitical, and can be supported by all parties. Our local MPs Gagan Mohindra MP and Sarah Green have been asked to actively support CVRP in the meeting that the Minister has offered to local MPs.
In future newsletters we’ll have CVRP updates including £5m of Lottery funding, community litter picking and the effects of Heathrow expansion on the Rivers Chess and Misbourne. |
