Since Cadent Gas made it clear that they are answerable only to HCC and not residents, we contacted HCC to ask if there is anything that can be done to encourage Cadent to speed up their works and to provide more access.

HCC have responded that they are working closely with Cadent, but due to the scale of the works involved they are planned to take 7-8 months. Cadent have encountered some problems, but have been told by HCC that they need to get this scheme complete by the end of August, at the latest, before the schools go back. 

They have one more planned section of closure, which will run from Valley Road up the hill to Highfield Way, but after this they will continue down to Chiltern Drive, but at least with temporary traffic signals to allow access
