Bucks County Council have opened a consultation on proposals to permanently close Roughwood Lane to vehicles, except for access. They say “Roughwood Lane is a single track lane and is not able to cope with the volumes of traffic currently using the road. It is proposed to continue to allow non-motorised traffic and access to the properties on the road only.”
It’s certainly a narrow lane, but so are Chorleywood’s lanes. This may drive extra traffic onto Long Lane in particular, for traffic heading to Gerrards Cross, the Chalfonts or the M40 northwards.
