Three Rivers is fortunate to have 3 of the 260 true chalk streams World Wide. The Rivers Gade, Chess and Colne meet up in Rickmansworth (hence Three Rivers!!).
The River Gade comes from a spring in the Chiltern Hills in Buckinghamshire; the River Chess rises from 3 springs near Chesham, and the River Colne has its source near North Mymms, and is fed by numerous chalk streams including the Gade and the Chess.
Unfortunately, these chalk streams and the wildlife that depend on these habitats for their survival are under threat.
Please have a look at the following videos to understand the importance of saving water to protect our precious chalk streams and wildlife.
