The recent Sunday Times Top 20 Autumn walks included the lovely walk behind Heronsgate down to what the Ordnance Survey mistakenly calls Bottom Wood, round to Philipshill Wood and Old Shire Lane. Keen local walkers following the route were alarmed to find no “No Dragon Wood” sign (*) as you enter Bottom Wood. We investigated, in case it meant the dragons had returned!
Woodoaks Farm soon reassured us: they’d swapped the gate for an accessible gate to allow wheelchair access. The sign is now restored and we’re all are safe again, although Woodoaks confess to a sneaky wish to expand their work on biodiversity to include dragons, but thankfully only their lesser non-fire breathing cousins, the common Lizard.
Thanks to Woodoaks Farm for all your work protecting our biodiversity and the environment.
