Ten young people with learning disabilities graduated from the charity Mission EmployAble’s supported internship training scheme, in a ceremony held in the Junction, Christ Church on Monday, July 3.
The graduates received their certificates from Mission EmployAble training manager Cassandra Langham, who praised each intern individually for their talents and hard work.
Each graduate wore a brightly coloured gown and mortar board for the ceremony and helped prepare lunch for the guests, who enjoyed a specially adapted rendition of ‘Congratulations’ performed by the Chorleywood and Rickmansworth u3a Ukulele group.
‘These interns have been a joy to know and train,’ said Cassandra Langham.
‘Several of them have been offered paid jobs already and I know that all of them will be a great asset to any organisation that employs them.’
Places are still available on Mission EmployAble’s next supported internship scheme, which begins in September. For details: training@missionemployable.co.uk
