Did you know that October 27th is “National Black Cat Day”?
Black cats need a little positive PR as their reputation as an omen of bad luck is well-known (and unearned, frankly). In the lead-up to Halloween, National Black Cat Day provides the chance for feline fans to show off their love for the oft-maligned, but always iconic animal.

And for me (Mike Stansfield, CRA Webmaster and Newsletter editor) it is particularly relevant this year as my wife and I are fostering 4 black kittens getting them ready for adoption and their forever homes. You can see them in the picture above … showing just how tricky it is to get them all looking the same way for the camera!
