Certainly not a pleasant topic for our newsletter, but we are aware that a number of residents have reported issues with the local sewage network which has impacted houses, particularly on Blacketts Wood Drive.

Thames Water have been called out on a number of occasions to sort the issue, including twice in one month. The cause seems to be the usual culprits of wipes and cooking fat.

For wipes, it is pretty simple, please put these in the bin and do not flush them. Cooking fat should also go in the bin. Smaller amounts can be wiped up with kitchen paper and then thrown away. For larger amounts, they should be poured into something like a jam jar and then scooped into the bin when set.
