There’s a spectacular display of poppies, cornflowers and daisies along the verges of Denham Way in Maple Cross.  Road verges are owned by Herts County Council, who want to encourage the growth of wildflowers.  We agree, and we keep pressing HCC to establish wildflower verges in Chorleywood at suitable sites.

Note that sowing wildflowers on Chorleywood Common is not appropriate unless they originate there.  The Common has many differing and rare grassland habitats and is managed by Chorleywood Parish Council to preserve them.
