Chorleywood jazz pianist and composer John Donegan will be showcasing his latest compositions at a concert in Rickmansworth on Wednesday, April 5th.
John and his highly regarded sextet are to play some of the stand-out tracks from his 2022 album, Shadows Linger, which one leading jazz website described as a memorable mix of bebop, Latin and blues-influenced numbers.
The concert will also preview music that John has written for an album he is to record in his native Ireland next month.
Among the musicians joining him at the Three Rivers Music Society concert will be trumpeter Steve Fishwick, who was lauded by no less a figure than Wynton Marsalis, the revered American musician. “I can’t think of another player that can do what he does,” Marsalis said.
The concert will be held at the Baptist Church, High Street, Rickmansworth WD3 1EH. 7.30pm start. Tickets: £16 at the door. Free entry for under-25s.
