As many residents know, Long Lane regularly floods all the way across the section that joins the M25 roundabout as you head south. We’ve reported it to Herts Highways, many times. Here’s their latest reply. Please note:
- The flood is shallow, and it’s safe to drive through – go slowly and test your brakes afterwards.
- Driving over the grassy triangle around the flood makes the flooding worse! It compresses the soil under the grass, which is the soakaway for the water. It also trashes the grass triangle and looks dreadful.
So please don’t drive around the water over the grass – it prolongs the problem and makes flooding more likely in future!
