Sites in Chorleywood are included in TRDC’s new Grassland Management plans aimed at enhancing bio-diversity, see Grassland Management (threerivers.gov.uk)   An interactive map is at Grassland Management – Google My Maps

The proposals cover TRDC-owned land, and details are still being worked up. For 2022-23 Chorleywood plans include hay meadow and conservation cuts at sites including part of the Swillett playing field, part of Warings Field, and parts of Chorleywood House Estate, where cattle are also brought in seasonally for grazing.

The Common is outside the TRDC scheme because it is managed by Chorleywood Parish Council, who already cut for hay and conservation and use seasonal grazing by cattle.

Rewilding, tree planting, verges and sowing spring wildflowers are on TRDC’s list, but at this early stage not specifically for Chorleywood.
