On Monday 10th our Committee colleague Vanessa Rousseau was presented with her British Empire Medal (BEM) for services to the community.
Vanessa says “It was particularly poignant this year as my award will be the last of the Queen’s Birthday Honours Lists. My husband Noel and our children, Florence and Cameron (and the school celebration bear!) joined me at the ceremony which took place at the Hertfordshire County Hall in Hertford.“
Vice-Lord-Lieutenant Ant Chapman read out the recipients’ citations during the ceremony. Lord-Lieutenant Robert Voss CBE presented the award and congratulated each of the winners.
Vanessa adds “It was the most humbling and inspiring experience listening to the amazing stories from the other award winners for their dedicated and passionate service to others.“ |
