Thanks to our November newsletter item lots of Chorleywood residents were able to respond to Bucks County Council’s consultation on closing Roughwood Lane to all vehicles, except for access. We’re pleased to say Bucks CC took note, and have decided on a much better solution to its problems.
From 21st February Roughwood Lane will have:
- more visible signage for the existing 7.5T limit,
- and signs saying the lane is for Permit holders and Access only
Residents of parishes within 1 mile of the lane are entitled to a free virtual permit. This means all residents of Chorleywood and Chenies can apply for one. Applying is easy – click here to give your address and car details, and upload a copy of your driving licence or car registration certificate (the V5).
We hope this will keep Roughwood Lane free for our local use, and prevent it from being a recommended diversion from the M25 when its blocked.
Update!
On 3 February 2025, a decision was made to extend the eligibility criteria for a permit to all residents and businesses in the following areas:
- Seer Green Parish Council area
- selected postcodes in the WD3 area (ending in 5BT, 5BU, 5DA, 5DB, 5DD, 5DE, 5DF, 5DG, 5DH, 5DL, 5DN, 5DP, 5DQ, 5DW, 5HA, 5HB and 5HD)
This was made following additional recent feedback from Chorlewood residents and residents nearby to Chorleywood.
