We understand that the NHS Trust responsible for Mount Vernon Hospital has confirmed its plans to close the Urgent Care Centre there. This urgent care nurse practitioner service is sometimes used by residents of Chorleywood after contacting 111 and obtaining an appointment. We have heard positive feedback of this service, and its loss is a concern.
David Simmonds, Member of Parliament for Ruislip Northwood & Pinner, launched a petition to save the service which has received over 25,000 signatures from local people. On Tuesday this week he raised a question in parliament to the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care.
You can read more about David’s campaign and keep up to date on his website. The petition is still available on the Hillingdon Conservatives’ website here.
The Mount Vernon Hospital is part of the Hillingdon NHS Trust along with the main Hillingdon Hospital for which a redevelopment is planned with construction of a new Hillingdon hospital between 2025 and 2030.
