Chorleywood Cricket Club has been playing cricket on Chorleywood Common for nearly 200 years, following the first match against Watford in 1829. Many Common users will see the wonderfully thriving Juniors competing against other local clubs most evenings. In contrast, Seniors matches are every Saturday, with the First XI competing at Championship level in the Hertfordshire Leagues.
The Club fields four XIs every Saturday with the third or fourth XIs playing at Westwood Park, Little Chalfont off Elizabeth Avenue – the captains like to call it ‘The Real Home of Cricket’! It is where many of our aspiring and improving Juniors play with Seniors where they get their first taste of the longer version of the game under the nurturing and management of older and experienced senior players.
The Club encourages new members and spectators to both Junior and Senior games where you will find a friendly welcome to the Club and its brilliant facilities in the new pavilion on Chorleywood Common. Like the Café at the back, the Club is dog friendly. For details of matches refer to www.cwcricket.org
