Colne Catchment Action Network: ColneCAN

The annual Colne water catchment area conference was held this week at Watersmeet with 100 or so networked individuals and organisations signed up to attend. Congratulations to Three Rivers [Chess, Gade, Colne] Council for joining Affinity and Thames Water as sponsors.

Topics ranged from in depth work on flooding, droughts and hydro-ecology, water quality and flow and the impact on different stages of the life-cycle of fish. Farmer groups have been developed to encourage greater biodiversity and sustainability.
 
There were impressive display stands of partner activities driving river-centred nature recovery – many with opportunities to get involved.
