Chorleywood is set to benefit from brand-new electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities at Ferry car park, with construction now complete and opening expected shortly.
The scheme will provide charging facilities for eight parking bays. Six bays will offer 22kW charging, sufficient to fully recharge a typical 60kWh car battery in around 2 to 3 hours, while two bays will provide 50kW rapid charging, reducing charge times to just over an hour. One of the 22kW bays will be reserved for blue badge holders, ensuring the facilities are accessible to all.
Blink Charging led the installation and will operate the new facilities in partnership with Three Rivers District Council and Hertfordshire County Council, as part of wider efforts to improve air quality and cut emissions in the area.
Once live, the Ferry charging hub will provide a welcome boost for both current EV drivers and those considering making the switch, helping Chorleywood take another step towards a cleaner, greener future. |
