Roadworks on the A404

There are major works taking place on the A404 between the junction of Valley Road and the junction of Chestnut Avenue. These are planned to continue until 12th December and are part of a large, planned scheme by Cadent to replace the ageing gas pipes in Rickmansworth. Signals controlling alternate traffic flow will need to be in place 24/7 as the replacement process involves having large open trenches within the carriageway, which would pose a safety hazard without suitable traffic management arrangements in place. We understand that due to the traffic sensitive nature of this major road, HCC will be liaising with Cadent regularly so should the times need to be adjusted they can implement changes quickly.

Hopefully by the time you read this newsletter other works causing the closure of Nightingale Road will have been completed.
