Margaret Wesley, the Chairman of the Chorleywood & District Horticultural Society tells us about their Autumn Show at the War Memorial Hall last Saturday.
There was a real buzz both at setting up the exhibits (198 in all!) and when visitors arrived in the afternoon. There were more exhibitors than ever including 10 who had not exhibited before and, guess what!, one of them won the Giffard Cup for the best fruit exhibit for dessert apples and another won the certificate for the best entry in vegetables for his magnificent leeks.
As usual there was a very well-stocked plant stall, a raffle and teas with our legendary home made cakes.
