The Ferry car park now has eight EV charging bays in operation, one of which is for disabled drivers. Note: you can’t park in an EV charging bay unless your car is connected and charging at the charging point.

Important changes will take effect next week for all the other parking bays. From November 3rd, the following parking options will apply, on Mondays to Saturdays from 8.30am to 4.30pm:

  • Free parking in any non-EV bay for up to 2 hours
  • In the Short Stay bays you can pay for extra time up to 3 or 4 hours
  • In the Long Stay bays you can pay for extra time up to 3, 4 or 24 hours
  • Business permits can still be purchased for use in Long Stay bays, as now, for 6 or 12 months at £129 or £257 respectively
  • On Sundays we believe anyone can park in any of the non-EV charging bays without charge

The plan below shows the layout of the parking area by type of bay.

TRDC’s aim is to provide more flexible use of the Ferry Car Park for residents, businesses and visitors whilst maintaining the turnover of spaces throughout the day. We very much hope that local workers will use this flexibility to free up parking spaces by the shops, it’s getting difficult for shoppers to find space and we want our local shops to thrive!

TRDC Officers will review the uptake of business permits and the utilisation of long stay bays after 12 months.
