We know it’s very frustrating waiting for TRDC’s approval of changes to the parking regulations at various locations around Chorleywood. The first street-by-street consultation was in 2021, and the 2nd consultation on detailed plans was in 2024. After this, TfL increased the station car park charge to £10 per day, a huge increase year on year. So people started parking on Common Gate Road, unsafely! In early 2025, plans were put forward to add Common Gate Road to the overall scheme, and we’re still waiting for TRDC to adopt the final Traffic Regulation Order (TRO).
Recently, we gather rumours have spread that implementation of the new traffic regulations will be staged, with some areas being done after Common Gate Road. We’ve been assured by TRDC that this isn’t the case. When the Council approves the scheme, it will be one TRO, so the new regulations will all take effect at the same time. |
