We are experiencing multiple road closures in Chorleywood. At one point recently felt we like it might cut us off completely.

You can view a map showing all roadworks including closures at https://one.network/uk/hertfordshire. This map is interactive. You can zoom in / out and move the map to see a different area. In the top left corner lets you choose what time period to view – the default is ‘Today’ so you might want to change this to ‘Next two weeks’ or even longer.

Each symbol on the map represents one or more items. If you click on the symbol it shows a list of the item(s) on the left of the page. Click on one of these and it expands further to give detailed information about the item including relevant dates, description of the works and a reference.

At the time of writing, nearby closures include:

  • Closure on Burtons Lane 6th Jan – 2nd Feb
  • Closure on Shepherds Lane 12th Jan– 6th Feb

There was recently also a closure on Common Road to tackle flooding, which we sincerely hope has fully resolved that problem.

Finally, Cadent’s work replacing the gas mains continues to disrupt with traffic control measures including on the A404 to Rickmansworth. You can see these on the map.

Potholes, drains etc.

Our roads continue to suffer from potholes and drainage problems. Please do keep reporting these to HCC using the fault reporting page on their website.

We have recently spotted that the Government is rating local highway authorities as Red, Amber or Green for how well they are maintaining the roads. You can view the current results here.
