The residents of Solesbridge Lane have been having a torrid time whenever the M25 is closed between J17 and J21. A combination of diversions by ConnectPlus, the company responsible for all M25 diversions, and satnavs, has meant that 100’s of HGVs and cars have been diverted along Solesbridge Lane. This volume of traffic all night has caused many sleepless nights and destruction to garden walls and trees.

The CRA, led by Lisa Stewart, with the support of Cllr Louise Price have been working with HCC to find a solution. HCC have been hugely sympathetic and have worked wonders. In less than two months they have come up with a solution which keeps Solesbridge Lane off satnavs whenever the M25 is closed between J17-J21. After an initial hiccup this seems to be working, the traffic has been dramatically reduced.

This is the first time HCC have used such technology and residents and the CRA are extremely appreciative of all their help and the speed with which they’ve acted. HCC are also working with ConnectPlus to encourage them to put out additional diversion signage on Solesbridge Lane stating that it’s unsuitable for HGVs.

Cllr Louise Price has arranged for the Police to conduct a survey with the Solesbridge Lane residents so they may voice all their concerns. The outcome of the survey will then dictate what further action may be taken.
