The Chorleywood Community Shed has been running for 16 months, meeting weekly in local village halls.

During that time the “Shedders” have made wildlife boxes, wooden Christmas trees, beeswax candles and tried a host of other activities. The motto of the Shed is “Meet, Make, Mend” so some weeks the Shedders just talk and at other times they undertake small repairs. Meetings last 2 hours and are accompanied by tea and homemade cake.

The Shedders range in age from mid 40s to over 80 – some come to share or learn new skills, others come to seek companionship, but whatever the reason everyone is welcomed.

Having proven the need for a Chorleywood Community Shed, the team now want to secure permanent premises so they can establish a workshop and hold more frequent sessions.

Do you know of a vacant building or a plot of land that could provide a suitable “home” for the Shed – please email chorleywoodcommunityshed@gmail.com with any ideas.
