Higgins community support and 125th anniversary

Our wonderful local butcher, W.H. Higgins, is preparing to celebrate an incredible milestone in September – 125 years of serving Chorleywood.  As Chorleywood’s oldest shop, Higgins has been part of local life for generations, and it is wonderful to see this landmark anniversary celebrated.

Under new local ownership since November 2025, Higgins has invested in the business, introducing new equipment, expanding the team, improving training, and moving to seven-day opening.

The team is passionate about preserving Higgins’ heritage while continuing to evolve. They want to listen to local customers, welcome feedback and suggestions, and ensure the products, services and shopping experience reflect what the community wants.

Higgins is also proud to support Chorleywood community life through:

• Chorleywood Primary School’s Circus Day
• Christ Church School event 
• The Scouts, Village Day
• Supporting local charities 
• Championing local produce, including lamb from Bullsland Farm
• Preparing to launch a local home delivery service
