Chorleywood Bottom – roundels and a Speed Indicator Device at last!

You may remember the crash in Chorleywood Bottom that we reported in August, it’s a difficult bend especially if you’re approaching from Shepherd’s Bridge direction. Drivers don’t realise how much they need to slow down.

The good news is that:

• HCC have just painted 20mph roundels on the road as you approach the bend. These are very noticeable and reinforce the speed limit signs. 
• And we’re delighted to hear that there will finally be a Speed Indicator Device (SID) as you approach the bend – we first requested this 2022! Our Herts County Council Cllr Louise Price and Chorleywood Parish Council have agreed to fund it jointly, for which many thanks. We hope it can be installed soon.

Here’s hoping these extra measures make a real difference to the speed at which vehicles take the bend.
