The Chorleywood Christmas Festival returns the evening of Friday 4th December.

This features the LANTERN PARADE, with handmade lanterns lighting up Chorleywood to start the festive season – bringing together the whole community in a creative way to share in the spirit of the season and have a fun.

If you would like to take part in the parade then use the button below. Voluntary donations go to this years supported charity – Essex & Herts Air Ambulance.

Once you register you’ll receive Lantern Making Instructions in case you want to have a go making them at home. There are also Lantern Making Sessions (materials provided) as follows

  • Saturday 21 Nov, 1-5pm @ The Bridge, St Andrew’s Church, Chorleywood
  • Sunday 22 Nov, 12-4pm @ The Russell School Hall, Brushwood Drive

The Parade will meet @ 4.25 pm on Friday 4th December at two locations:

(You can choose to join at whichever location is nearest to you)

The two Lantern Parades will set off from both meeting points at approximately 4.45pm, meeting at the Main Stage in Lower Road where you will be able to park your lantern and enjoy all the usual Chorleywood Christmas Festival entertainment in the village centre with shops open late, street food, stalls, children’s fairground rides, Santa’s Grotto and festive music from schools, local choirs and music groups.

Can you help?
The organisers still have 1 hour slots from 1 to 8.30pm where they need marshals to help with road closures, the lantern parade and keeping pedestrians safe. They supply briefing notes and high-vis vests to all marshals.  If you can help, please  email Sarah at cwcifestival@gmail.com or message her at 07867 781595.
