The challenges that Chorleywood faces on the planning front are only getting greater every month. The development for Green Street (with either 300 or 675 new homes being built) has taken another step forward, with the applicant submitting revised highways designs to attempt to overcome Hertfordshire Highways concerns. The first stages of the planning permission process have started for Hill Farm, where Taylor Wimpey are looking to build 100 new homes. At the same time, the application for Catlips Farm (333 new homes) has had its first consideration by TRDC Planning Committee, where it was agreed that before a decision could be made a site visit will be required.
To ensure that all these applications are properly examined, the Parish needs to raise funds to hire the experts needed for analysis and advice, and with the pace at which things are moving, this is becoming more and more urgent.
We ask all residents to contribute to the fund if they can, to ensure that any new homes built in Chorleywood are only built in the right place and are the right homes for our community. We need to raise £50,000 and the Parish Council will match residents’ donations pound for pound.
The committee of Chorleywood Residents’ Association think that this fund is so vital to protect Chorleywood from over-development that CRA will make a substantial donation to the Fund.
