We’re delighted to see that David Gauke, our erstwhile MP and former Secretary of State for Justice, has been awarded a knighthood in the King’s Birthday Honours List, for services to the Justice Department.
The citation says David “led a comprehensive, evidence-based examination of sentencing policy … to identify solutions to the prison capacity crisis … The Review’s proposals have been widely praised by key justice stakeholders and have influenced policy development, with the introduction of the Sentencing Bill into parliament in September 2025, which received Royal Assent on 22 January 2026.”
David was the guest speaker at our 2025 AGM, and briefed us on the review findings, generating lots of interesting questions and discussion.
Congratulations Sir David!
